It would be an understatement to say the experience of opening a restaurant for the first time is mind-blowing. From the good, the bad, and the ugly it has been a wild ride in 2024. Frankly to even be in a position of sitting down and writing this post in itself finds words difficult to come across. Looking back on the decision to move in this direction, the planning, the executing, the calls, the emails, the travel, the hundreds and hundreds, if not thousands of hours spent getting to a point of writing something poignant and reflective has been the most challenging thing we've ever done. I find it interesting how my viewpoint of this restaurant has evolved and devolved over time, from fear and anxiety, to freedom and joy, with minutes, hours, or days between going back and forth on them. One thing stands true, and I've tried to lead a life by making decisions and standing behind them: I don't have any regrets in making the choices I've made for myself. Friends, family, neighbors, and new faces alike have all been so supportive and have helped in lifting spirits when they were low. It's lovely how a strong coffee, a tasty cocktail, a delicious plate of food and some amazing company can bring anyone together when they understand what it took to put all of it in place. I can reasonably say that the reason why any of this has been worth it is because of you. Without you were aren't where we are, and without you understanding me, us, and the philosophy of this restaurant's core, we couldn't be doing what we're doing. I didn't want this to be long-winded, and frankly it's already longer than I wanted this to be, but I just wanted to say thank you. Thanks for reading this and thank you for being along on the ride with us. Cheers to 2025.
